ECOWAS Investment Climate Monitoring Platform

ECOWAS investment monitoring platform is developed by the ECOWAS Commission (represented by the Private Sector Directorate) in collaboration with the European Union and the World Bank under the improved Business and Investment Climate in West Africa Project.

The project offers technical assistance to both the ECOWAS and UEMOA Commissions as well as their Member States to ‘address a range of investment policy and investment climate issues that constitute barriers for the private sector to invest efficiently across the region.’

The overall objective of the platform is to ensure improved business and investment climate in West Africa.

The focus of the project is to offer technical assistance in the areas of developing investment policy, climate and entry; provision of incentives; and transfer pricing.

The activities of the program include public-private dialoguing for enhanced collaboration; peer-to-peer learning, at both national and regional levels, for knowledge sharing; and a score card for benchmarking and monitoring progress of reforms at both the national and regional levels
